Thanks for the chat Will. I just would try to change the repos, but Yast2 is ill too. With so many issues, I find it better to do a clean install of 11.3.
But for NVIDIA I haven't found good help since Sax2 was killed from the 11.3 package.
I have before tried to install 11.3 on another HDD, but due to the NVIDIA I couldn't get it up running as before using Sax2. Is there now good advices on how to's ?
Erik see http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:NVIDIA_drivers#The_repository_way First thing after 11.3 is installed and running - add the Nvidia repo ' zypper ar -f ftp://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/11.3/ nvidia'
install the appropriate nvidia driver (x11-video-nvidiaG02 most likely)
reboot.
This automatically takes care of disabling kms, adjusting xorg configuration, rebuilding initrd everything. Has worked flawlessly for me on a few different system (can't say the same for ATI drivers, grrr)

Tejas Thanks for your reply. I have made a clean install of 11.3 here, and have nearly followed your advices. I also installed the Nvidia repo just after the install. Had a little problem there. I have used http instead of ftp. Having changed that it worked, and a zypper refresh did the last.
