Does anyone have any experience of ACPI? I've a Toshiba Satellite 5005-S504, one of these "legacy-free" laptops, with no bios access. It uses acpi to assign IRQ's and the bottom line is that I can't get sound working because of this. I've previously been using debian and had no problems patching a 2.4.18 kernel with acpi patches from sourceforge, but if I try this with the SuSE kernel (2.4.18-4GB) it won't recompile. I suspect that SuSE have already patched it in some way. Enabling the existing options in the kernel doesn't work and the sound modules still won't load (i810_audio, ac97_codec). So for the time being, I have a dummy sound driver: it's not a big deal, but I'd just prefer to have it working. David
