After 1 week rebuilding my stuff in a new computer (Toshiba Satellite 1905 S-301, pentium IV 2G Hz, 40G HD, 256 M memory) I will have to change to another model because of heating and random shutdowns (vendor is taking it back and will receive a new one). The new computer will be a Satellite 5105 501 with the same specs except for the CPU that will be a mobile pentium IV 1.7G Hz) . To save the lot of time I used in installation (partition of disk -> 30 G for Suse Linux 7.3 and 10 for Windows Xp, installing Suse 7.3, installing Win4lin and Windows 98, applications in Linux and Windows, personal stuff etc) can I simply switch the HD's ?
If the only difference IS only the processor, yes with no problems. If the 501 has diferent hardware, etc., then you will still need to tweak. It would still probably be faster. -- Joe & Sesil Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM.
