I'm getting really frustrated here. The SuSE 6.1 install via NFS worked great. But now I can't get my X server working. I've used sax and XF86Setup and after going through the procedures umpteen times trying different servers, cards, etc, I keep getting the same response when I type "startx", namely: Fatal Server error No valid modes found. I have been everywhere on the web I can think of: google, LDP, personal sites, manufacturer's sites, etc. to no avail. I've been over the XF86Config file with a fine-toothed comb and I can't figure out why it can't find any valid modes! I've searched on the error message, but there doesn't seem to be an answer that applies to me (case-sensitivity, Trident cards, etc.). The card information (both from the web and SuperProbe) is a WD 90C24 with 512K SVGA. The monitor is an LCD screen that will support VGA (I don't know what color depth it will work at, but that Other Operating System that came on the HD looked damn colorful!) Now what?
