I checked too, and from the info section of Creative Plus:
Comment There are actually two versions of the WebCam Plus. One is this one, model CT6840, which is supported by my ov511 driver. The other is based on the OV518+ chip, which is currently undocumented and unsupported. I am doing the best I can to support this.
Is your Webcam the supported one ?
http://alpha.dyndns.org/ov511/cameras.html :
Creative Labs WebCam Plus (CT6840; U.S.A. model)
The other one is from outside the US...
Well, I do have the CT6840 and I'm located now in Madrid (Spain), and that's in Europe, IIRC :-) ...

XawTV needs Video4Linux tools. Check if this in your kernel config (Multimedia Device section). So you won't need only USB support, but V4L support too.
The xawtv rpm install from SuSE's CDROM installs the v4l stuff, including bttv ... or am I wrong? [snip]
<*]Furthermore, a /sbin/init.d/usb status shows that the USB modules have been loaded but no USB device was found :-( <*] <*]Do you know what could be going wrong? Thanks a lot in advance!
Any error messages? What's does /var/log/messages say about that?
Actually only the ones reported when launching xawtv
What about your USB hardware?
It works fine. I just tested it on a Windoze machine we have at work and made a nice picture of myself... =B-) Martin
