Hi! I'd like to get anti-aliased fonts in SuSE 8.0, but so far - no success.
From my Win98 I copied few ttf fonts (Arial, Georgi, Times ..) into /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype and this entry is in my /etc/X11/XF86Config.
I created fonts.dir & fonts.scale within "truetype" directory and I also have following entry - dir "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype" in my XFtConfig file.
From the xdpyinfo I see that XFree (V4.2.) supports RENDER extension (I have Matrox G400 card).
I rehashed the fonts and they are visible with xfontsel or xlsfonts. However, anti-aliasing doesn't work. When I look at fonts with xmag - no anti-alias effect. What am I doing wrong, ie. what I'm missing? Sincerely, Gour -- Gour gour@mail.inet.hr Registered Linux User #278493
