I am running OpenSuSE 10.3 with the 2.6 default kernel. I have four partitions on three external disk drives. Every time I reboot, not often but it happens, the partitions mount in what appears to be random order. One time, a partition will be mounted as '/media/Disk-2' and the next time 'media/Disk'. Since each one contains NFS exported folders, I have to manually change the pathnames, etc. As I said in another post with a related problem, this seems like a problem with a simple solution but the articles I've found so far go into theoretical kernel jargon, about 99% of which I don't understand. Can anyone point me to an easily understandable procedure to make the external drives mount to the same mount point every time? Any assistance will be sincerely appreciated.
