Yes, same here. I learned minimal vi commands for emergencies. But years ago we convinced the SUSE people to include "joe" in the rescue system, same as "vi". The first time I used "vi" I had to kill the remote terminal I was using to access the Linux machine at the office. I did not know how to exit, there was no help or anything. Emacs was more friendly.
