On that point of the need to reset the defaults, yes, But the basic difference between us seems to be this: You believe wholeheartedly in BtrFS as the one correct file system. You put forward its benefits well. I no more believe that there should be just one file system than I think there should be just one religion or just one country or just one ethic culture or just one language. I like the differences. people have had different principles and different ideas about things they want to explore. OBTW: I think minimising the number of commands required is just the latest iteration of what was once the idea of minimising the number of keystrokes.
