I just bought a new intel-I7-mini pc (brand of a Spanish shop pccomoponentes, which doesn't exist in internet, so I don't know about the psysical details).
i7-10510U was launched nearly 4 years ago, so is clearly old enough for mature Gnu/Linux support.
I installed OpenSuse 15.5 which went flawless, but later, during the first update, it suddenly shut down and rebooted.
This repeated several times, but the sudden shutdown/reboot occurs after different times in different situations. Because my first thought was that it's a memory problem I booted with memtest86 and let it run for approx. 5 hours (1 full pass plus some more) with no error reported. ... This failure description suggests to me to do what follows expediently with expectation it needs to be returned for exchange or refund due to hardware defect: 1-check if a BIOS update is available 2-make sure applicable firmware is installed 3-If it has only one RAM stick installed, try it in a different slot, and install a matching second. If 2 or more, swap them around. 4-run memtest at least 4 full passes. 1 only is inconclusive. 5-check whether grub linu line addition nomce had any effect. 6-Check with live media of some other distro, e.g. TW. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is, like religion, based on faith, not based on science.
