Hi, I tried to use LibreOffice to open a .doc file for a friend of mine so he could fill it out for a job app. However, it won't open up in LO Writer (LibreOffice 3.5:build-413) correctly on Opensuse 12.1 or 12.2 on three different computers.
Specifically, it doesn't provide a correct graphic display of the document. Also, it doesn't allow anyone to type in information in the appropriate blocks.
I have linked three screenshots on this email to illustrate what is happening. [........]
What is really missing is the URL where the original form can be obtained so that I/we can see for ourselves what happens when I/we open it in out copies of LibreOffice.
For example, I am running LibreOffice v3.6.3.1 and so expect to get a different result to you.
So, what is the URL for that form?
BC Hi Basil, there is no url to access to find this form. It is sent by email from the employment office that makes contracts for pilots for International Air Carriers. I will send it to you via private email so that you can try it out. If anyone else would like to try, I will do the same for them if they let me know.
Well, the first document, which is named in lower case lettering, displays as you have it here- http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/4092/62537760.png The second one, the one in capital lettering, displays perfectly. But in both cases I am able to type in the information requested on the form.
