I did a fresh install of SuSE 7.3 professional. After I got everything like I wanted, I went in to add some custom apps to the start menu and all looked well in the menu editor, however, when I restart KDE, none of the changes show up. I even checked after I rebooted for another reason and still they don't show up. On my boxes that I struggled through a 7.2->7.3 update, I can edit the menu just fine. Where do I look and what file/script do I need to fix, check permissions, etc?
/opt/kde/share/applnk On my 7.2 box, this directory only has write permission for the owner, root. So you would need to be logged in as root to edit the menu (or change the permissions). There's also the directory ~/.kde/share/applnk. This looks to be like a personal or favorites menu. -- Robert Wohlfarth rjwohlfar@galaxyinternet.net "Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?" -- Matthew 6:25b
