Carlos, Thanks for the information.
I would like to test the Opensuse-11-Beta2-DVD-ppc.iso (PPC image). Since IBM is restricted to use Torrent as client, i am unable to get the Opensuse-11-Beta2-DVD-ppc.iso.
Can anyone provide access to Opensus-11.2,ppc image that does not involve torrent client??
If you get it, only install it on a "spare" box or plan on cleaning the hard drive and going back to what you had loaded before. KDE 4.0 ISN'T anywhere near ready for prime time - way too many bugs and features missing like not being able to hide the taskbar.....based on the 64-bit live CD I played with. I fear that KDE 4.0 won't be ready for the June 16th release date. It would be MUCH better if 11.0 doesn't go "gold" until KDE 4.0 is solid and ALL features are present and there's NO glitches with any of the software that anyone has been using under KDE 3.*.
Maybe the current 11.0 should be renamed 10.4
I really LIKE SuSE as a platform, but sometimes their decision-making makes me feel like ripping my hair out.
Nobody among us really needs a repeat of the 10.0 fiasco.
No, we don't, and presently - presently - 11.0 will make 10.0 like perfect! I can't find fault with the OS...everything seems solid, just KDE 4.0!
Who ever threw the switch for this train wreck in the making needs to be thoroughly chastised, and assigned to answering phones for the next 12 months....since 11.0 WILL, of course, be the basis for SLED 11.
I assume that's true. I just don't see 4.0 being ready.......this could be Novell's BIG change on the desktop market, and I've very concerned that they're going to blow it.....big time!
