I know that I will need to setup rows and columns in the page setup.
Anyone here know how, or has read something thing that could assist me in setting up samba to do this sort of printing?
I was with you until you got to the samba part, what does samba have to do with printing labels to a dot matrix printer?

Ooh, Ooh, Ooh, I know, I know .... nothing ; - ) Chadley, You need to look into the printer control language for your dot matrix printer to determine the type of output to feed it to make the data wind up in the format you want. Traditionally, this has been handled by software and drivers that know how to take the information you want to print and formatting it for your printer. Neither Samba or Cups has anything to do with this. Cups is just tangentially involved in allowing you to determine whether to dump raw data to a printer or whether to use a third party driver to do it. Whatever application you use to print from is where you need to start looking at formatting the columns and rows. Get that solved and Samba, Cups or lp will do their parts. -- David C.
