Problems connecting to Windows with fish

Hello all: I have a strange problem, I hope some one can shed some light on it. A friend of mine is staying with me for a while so I connected his Windows machine to my network. I decided to use ssh for file transfer between the machines which works fine. However, I am having problems connecting to the sshd on his machine through fish:// (it keeps saying connection broken) while sftp works fine.
