Hi Peter,
It isn't there... can you tell me how to install it? Is it one package? If so, is it gdm? because I tried installing that and it still doesn't show up...
actually, I guess gnome_desktop is NOT the "main package". I really don't know exactly what should be installed to accomplish this ... sorry.
I do know that if you select both desktops during the install, it will just work.
Hi Matt & Peter: I'm running 10.0 with GNOME as my primary desktop environment and have the following repositories defined in YaST's 'Installation Source' module (I'm providing the whole list for convenience; note the 'supplementary' for GNOME): protocol: http server: packman.rsync.zmi.at directory: suse/10.0 protocol: http server: ftp4.gwdg.de directory: pub/linux/misc/suser-guru/rpm/10.0/ protocol: ftp server: ftp4.gwdg.de directory: pub/suse/i386/10.0/inst-source-extra protocol: ftp server: ftp4.gwdg.de directory: pub/suse/i386/10.0/SUSE-Linux10.0-GM-Extra protocol: ftp server: ftp4.gwdg.de directory: pub/suse/i386/supplementary/GNOME/update_for_10.0/yast-source protocol: ftp server: ftp4.gwdg.de directory: pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source protocol: ftp server: ftp4.gwdg.de directory: pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source-java Open the 'Software Management' module, select 'Selections' in the 'Filter' field, top-left. Enable the 'GNOME System' checkbox. Click the 'Check Dependencies' button if automatic checking isn't enabled. Resolve any dependency conflicts (Important!) before proceeding. If you get stuck in a dependency loop, post the error messages and I'll compare it with my installation here. hth & regards, Carl
