This is where the synapses in my brain break down from age. I can't recall if remote X (like tightvnc) starts a separate X session. I just can't recall. But, I suspect that is likely it. For some reason I thought it would start an X session if needed, otherwise reuse the current... I'll have to setup a test across the LAN to confirm, but that would be to an Arch box so there may be some config differences. The only other suse box I have to boot is running SUSE 9.0 (presuming it still boots after a long slumber in the corner....) -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
