I had a similar issue. My laptop was bought new in July. From then until October I ran 9.3 - I had three occasions where my system would go down and require a fsck -rebuild. I never lost data, and keep a KDAR DVD handy anyway, but it was wierd. So far I haven't had the issue at all after re-formatting and upgrading to 10.0.
