Hello,
Is there experience if the support for an IBM Thinkpad T41 laptop improved from 10.0 to 10.1? Where did it improve? How about the upcoming 10.2?

I don't know about IBM, but for me, on my Acer Aspire 5670 I had the following improvements going from 10.0 to 10.1: 1) Wireless worked, I just needed the firmware driver. On 10.0 I couldn't get it to work, even with ndiswrapper.
I knew there was something I forgot. Wireless under 10.1 rox! Under 9.3 - 10.0 it was "okay" but under 10.1 on the same laptop it is fantastic. I have a home network with WPA encryption. Under all previous versions, I was unable to have the laptop auto-connect. Now it just works. When I susupend and go to work, the laptop wakes up, recognizes either my work Wireless (with WPA) or wired connection and does its thing. This is what I was waiting for and was well worth the initial pain of using Zen under 10.1 - which has since been fixed, I'm told.
The only problem I had was that the ATI driver would not install before I did an online update (probably a kernel problem). This let to some outbursts of violence, because it took me 3 days to finally do the online update. I think all those problems should be sorted out by now, but discounting that, I am, all things considered, happier with 10.1 on my laptop.
I didn't have this issue, because I used the 10.1 DVD from Linux Magazine, which included the proprietary ATI driver, allowing me to install direclty with 3d support OOTB. -- Kai Ponte www.perfectreign.com || www.4thedadz.com remember - a turn signal is a statement, not a request
