Hola, copias el directorio a /srv/www/htdocs porque ahi tienes configurado los archivos que busca el servidor Apache (DocumentRoot), podrias modificar el archivo httpd.conf para que buscara en otro directorio o simplemente crear un <virtual host>. Bueno, he observado que es fundamental sus dos ordenes anteriores, es decir # rcapache2 start (saldrán cosas...) # rcmysql start Yo esto nunca lo ponía y claro es fundamental
Bueno yo no se qué líso lleva esta gente de PhPNuke y tal entonces como me quieren obligar a pagar 10USD y no los voy a pagar y además me han hablando muy bien del XOOPS que debe ser igual que cualquier otro Nuke, no se si alguien lo ha utilizado alguna vez, voy a tratar de configurar este.
Tu dices que hay que copiar en una carpeta y yo me pregunto ¿por qué hay que copiarlo en esa carpeta?
Ahora copias la carpeta de phpnuke a /srv/www/htdocs:
# cp -rvf /home/usuario/phpnuke /srv/www/htdocs (verás el progreso de copia...)
Si no recuerdo mal las últimas versiones de phpnuke llevan instalador un fichero que se llame install.php o setup.php. Asegurate de que está en /srv/www/htdocs/phpnuke/install.php
Ahora abres el navegador y pones en la URL: http://localhost/phpnuke/install.php
¿POR QUÉ HAY QUE COPIARLO EN SRV, ETC? me lo puedes explicar.

Para instalar PHP-Nuke, PostNuke o cualquier aplicación PHP:
Nos vamos a nuestro querido YaST e instalamos Apache, php, mod_php, mysql, ... y en definitiva todos los paquetes que perteneces a la catergoría "pequeño servidor web"
También te recomiendo te instales phpMyAdmin, es un frontend para mysql. Cuando está todo instalado haces como root: # rcapache2 start (saldrán cosas...) # rcmysql start

Te saldrá una especie de asistente. Seleccionas el servidor de bases de datos MySQL y los datos de conexión serían:
host: localhost user: root pass: (en blanco)
Sigues las instrucciones y listo. Luego borras el archivo install.php y en la URL pones: http://localhost/phpnuke/index.php
Y tendrás el nuke preparado para ser configurado. Ojo que esta configuración por defecto es muy insegura, contraseña en blanco del administrador de MySQL (root)
Si phpnuke no lleva instalador, repito que no estoy seguro, dimelo y te explico paso a paso como hacerlo a mano :-)
