Estoy intentando instalar mysql, desde el archivo mysql-standard-4.1.12-pc-linux-gnu-i686.tar.gz que me he descargado de www.mysql.com, lo he descomprimido con el tar y lo he copiado en /usr/local. Pues dice que mySQL no tiene los correspondientes derechos de acceso al directorio y que no puede crear " ./ibdata1" y que no puede continuar las operaciones. Reintenta de nuevo la instalación con derechos de "root", o, mejor aún, instala la distribución de MySQL que viene en SUSE con YAST y después deja que este se encargue de las actualizaciones.
