[...] Mi grepmail ha terminado, y ha encontrado 485 mensajes. Buff. A ver, por encima, dicen: - google for "file recovery Linux" - (something like "r2linux". - Another option is http://freshmeat.net/projects/unrm/ or article http://www.newsforge.com/os/03/10/08/1416248.shtml?tid=23 (mainly the grep part) - You might have a little luck with the Ontrack Data Recovery Utility. It runs under dos or windows, I dont remember which. I used it a year or two ago to recover some files from a messed up harddrive. I would Google for Ontrack and see what you can find. - For The Ontrack homepage start at http://www.ontrack.com/ - (Jim Sabatke, 11 Nov 2004, Subject: [SLE] Reiser gone bad) It looks like it's all Microsoft stuff there unless I'm missing something. Anyway, I managed to "fix" the copied files with the rescue boot, although it deleted a couple directories I'd like to have kept. I managed to save most of my Cyrus IMAP data, but lost all my browser stuff as the main directory for it was corrupted. All in all I consider that a fairly good outcome, all things considered. - (Clayton Cornell, 23 Aug 2003) I have found an interesting tool made by ACR Data Recovery called Media Tools. I ran the free downlaod version of their s/w on the broken system, and it reports back the that partition table is missing... gone.. not there at all. It scanned the physical sectors on the drive, and (after about 98 minutes) found some useful things.. like the FATs pointing to the data that the owner really needs to recover. I can actually see the filenames of all the files I need to recover. So.. the data is still there, but everything I try seems to get tripped up on the fact that the partition table is stuffed. The purchase version of this Media Tools claims to be able to recover the data regardless of there being a valid partition table or not...... -- Saludos Carlos Robinson
