Hallo, Wollte Samba konfigurieren. Der Linux Server ist aber gar nicht sichtbar (von W2k Workstation - Novell Netzwerk ). Mein smb.conf sieht folgend aus: (hab ich auch mit share als seecurity Stufe versucht) # # /etc/samba/smb.conf ist the main samba configuration file. Ohne alles im einzelnen geprüft zu haben, damit Dein Rechner im Netzwerk sichtbar wird, musst Du mindestens browseable = yes setzen. Sonst musst Du den Rechner "suchen". cu Hannes

Ich bin nicht sicher ob Samba mit Novell-Netzwerken funktioniert, probier es doch mal mit dem MS-Network. cu Hannes

Wie hast du denn versucht, deine Kiste zu finden? Über das Netzwerk ist das meist ein kalter - funktioniert gar nicht oder erst nach Stunden soweit ich weiß (zumindest bei MS). Also (falls du es nicht schon so probiert hast) die Kiste direkt mounten. Explorer - Extras - Netzlaufwerk verbinden Eingabe in der Maske: \\IP-Adresse(z.b.: 10.0.15.10)\Freigabename Das klappt eigentlich immer in Sekunden...

Hallo, Haette ich noch eine Frage ueber Samba gehabt. Da existierte ein Benutzer - peter. Weil ich verschluesselte Passwords zur Verifiezierung benutzen wollte, hab' ich diesen peter smb - password geschafft (mit smbpasswd -a peter). Dann wollte ich die anderen Benutzer hinzufuegen. (Hab useradd - m Befehl verwenet ). Aber die smbpasswd funtionieren nicht. Bin mir nicht ganz sicher, aber hiermit kam ich damals gut klar: *********** Im Sourcecode des Samba befindet sich das Paket "mksmbpasswd.sh". Dieses ist in den Sambapfad zu kopieren und wie folgt zu benutzen: cat /etc/passwd | mksmbpasswd.sh > /etc/smbpasswd chmod 600 /etc/smbpasswd smbpasswd -U username Ergänzung der smb.conf: encrypt passwords = yes *********** MfG, Bernd
