Hallo beisammen, also heute meine Festplatte anfing im Nichtstumodus zu rödeln, wollte ich mal unter top schauen, was da los sein könnte. Ich entdeckte, dass der user nobody finger laufen ließ. Das hat mich stutzig gemacht, weil ich nicht wüßte, warum so etwas im Hintergrund laufen müsste. Ich habe es mal gekillt. Mich würde jetzt mal interessieren, was ich so tun kann, um unnötige Dienste abzuschalten und wie ich sonst noch erreichen kann, dass mein System möglichst sicher ist. Ich kann mit manchen Serverdiensten nichts anfangen, wie beispielsweise: - nscd - portmap - random - raw also in Bezug darauf, ob ich diese benötige. Ich habe hier keinen Server laufen, nur einen Einzelplatzrechner. Wo kann man noch sehen, was man so laufen hat und wo kann man ggfs. Dinge ausschalten. Die /etc/inetd.conf scheint ja unter SuSE 8.2 obsolet zu sein. Was ist beispielsweise, wenn auf meinem System die user at oder bin die Programme atd oder portmap ausführen? Will ich das? Martin

Das machst Du im Yast => System => Runlevel-Editor.

Das ist der Name Service Caching Daemon. Den kannst Du getrost abschalten.

Tja, wenn Du nicht zB ein Filesystem per nfs exportierst, dann schalt das Dings ebenfalls ab. Portmap ist dazu gut, eingehende Anfragen für Dienste, für die kein standardisierter Port vorgesehen ist, zu verarbeiten. nfs ist so ein Dienst.

Also der portmapper ist für Dich nicht nötig. Der atd hingegen ist ganz nett. Das ist ein daemon, der bestimmte Jobs einmalig zu einer bestimmten Zeit ausführt (d.h. also anders als cron, der die Dinge regelmäßig anschiebt). Wenn Du atd nicht brauchst, dann schalt ihn ruhig auch ab. Andererseits braucht er nicht viele Ressourcen, und ich finde ihn bisweilen ganz nützlich. -- Andreas Feile www.feile.net
