This is of course a bad view, but as this is largely volunteer project, an acceptable answer. The good thing however is, if the original packager has this view, you can also submit fixes yourself or have someone else submit fixes for you. The openSUSE Maintenance team itself will not refuse to review and publish bugfix updates for older distros.
