Hallo, zwei neue Versionen von meinen Lieblingsprogrammen (xchat 1.9 und pan BETA) bauen auf GTK2 auf. Auf den SuSE 8 CD's ist dieses (nach meiner Suche) nicht enthalten. Frage: Kann man sich das noch zusätzlich installieren, oder ist das eine Frage von "Entweder 1.x (SuSE 8) oder 2.x" ? Nein, beide lassen sich parallel (sogar mit demselben Prefix) installieren, vorrausgesetzt, die gtk1-Version ist hinreichend neu (Sollte bei SuSE-8.0 theoretisch (ich verwende Ximian) der Fall sein).
Hat damit jemand schon mal Erfahrung gesammelt ? Ja. Ich habe beides gtks parallel installiert. Bislang ohne grosse Probleme (Die rpm-specs in den GTK-Tarbällen sind allerdings lausig).

Jep. Meine .specs (prefix: /opt/gnome2, laesst sich aber einfach aendern) kannst du (Stonki) gern per PM haben. Ebenso fuer die von gtk2 benoetigten anderen Pakete (glib2, atk, pango, pkg-config sowie ggfs. gtk-doc). Achso: der Build-Prozess von gtk-2.0.2 ist defekt, nimm gtk-2.0.3. -dnh -- Ergo: Das Problem sind nicht Viren und die Lösung ist nicht Herumpfuschen am Mailserver. Das Problem ist Microsoft (lies: die Unfähigkeit dieser als Softwareschmiede firmierenden Mafia^WMarketingabteilung auf Crack, auch nur ein einziges Stück Software zu schreiben, das nicht vor Bugs und Exploits überquillt). Sollte es jemals schick werden, auf CDs gepresste Schweinescheiße zu kaufen, hat Microsoft einen 15jährigen Vorsprung vor allen anderen - immerhin etwas. -- Robin S. Socha in dcsm
