Hallo Liste, ich habe ein DAT-Laufwerk und kann auch ueber "taper -U @sichern" als User root ein Backup machen. Da die Sicherung aber ueber CRON erfolgen soll habe ich den Eintrag: 01 2 * * * taper -U @sichern eingegeben. Doch leider wird der Job nicht gestartet. Woran kann das liegen ? Danke fuer Antworten. Der Eintrag muß folgendermassen aussehen : 01 2 * * * root taper -U @sichern ansonsten findest Du hilfe unter 'man 5 crontab'. dort sind auch beispielcrons angegeben, bzw ein blick in Deine /etc/crontab hätte zur Lösung geführt. Vor allem muss man immer wieder zwischen den normalen crontabs der User (AUCH root) und der systemweiten /etc/crontab unterscheiden. Fuer erstere ist die obige Form korrekt, fuer zweitere die untere. Ausserdem tippe ich darauf, dass der unvollstaendige Pfad ein Problem bereiten kann (sowohl vom Programm als auch von der (?) Konfigurationsdatei). Ein cronjob rennt halt nicht in der selben Umgebung wie eine interaktive Shell. Ist die dann ZWEIMAL installiert ? Lt "man cron" werden die Tabellen der User und DANEBEN ohnehin /etc/crontab ueberwacht. Dass letztere ein anderes Format hat, ist fuer mich (wie hier mehrfach dargelegt) ein Riesengegenargument. 'crontab -e' als root genuegt vollauf. Whups! Das gibt doppelte Einträge. Das woll Ulrich sicherlich nicht. Die in /etc/crontab stehenden Einträge werden schon ausgeführt. Wenn man sie nochmal in den crontab von root schiebt, dann hat man einmal zu viel geschossen.
