FTP unter SuSE 8.0 Pro? Wu-FTP? Pro-FTP?
ich wollte einen FTP-Server einrichten. Das hatte ich damals mit SuSE 7.2 auch. Bei SuSE 8 sind irgendwie keine FTP-Server dabei. Bei 7.2 hatte ich über webmin einen Wu-FTP eingerichtet, der auch gut lief. Welche FTP-Server sind bei 8.0 dabei? Hmmm, schau doch einfach mal auf der CD / DVD nach... Meines Wissens proftpd und wuftp in jedem Fall. Die meisten werden vermutlich proftp empfehlen. HTH V. BTW: Kannst Du Dir bitte die Werbung sparen und Deinen echten Namen angeben. Danke

mit SusE 8.0 beginnend sind weder ProFTPD noch WU-FTP enthalten. Der neue Favourit von SUSE ist wohl PureFTP. ProFTPD findest Du unter anderem bei www.proftpd.de. Installation vom Tarball ist ein Kinderspiel und auf einem üblichen System (> 300 Mhz *G*) innerhalb von 10min bewerkstelligt. Irrtum. Die beiden Pakete gibt es auf Grund von Sicherheitsbedenken nicht mehr auf der SuSE Distribution. Stattdessen findest Du dort jedoch einen neuen supersicheren FTP Server names vsftp. Ist wohl sehr zu empfehlen. Die Konfiguration ist gut dokumentiert und wenn man einmal das Konfigurationsfile(/etc/vsftpd.conf)2 überfliegt, sollte einem alles klar sein... Umstellungsschwierigkeiten sehe ich da nicht großartig... Ich habe bei 8.0 den vsftpd installiert. In man vsftpd.conf solltest Du alles Notwendige finden können. Gruss horst

einfach von www.proftpd.org das tar.gz der Version 1.2.6 ziehen, configure, make und make install ausführen, in die inetd.conf einbinden und fertlig läßt sich simpel und einfach konfigurieren, auch wenn ich ein paar Probs mit der Config hatte - aber stonki ist ja mit (bei) uns :-) Thorsten
