Hi Ihr@Liste, ich habe auf einem SuSE 7.0 System xinetd (2.1.8.8p3) und proftpd (1.2.2rc2) installiert und moechte den proftpd von xinetd bei Bedarf aufrufen lassen. Auszug aus /etc/xinetd.conf: defaults { log_type = FILE /var/log/xinetd.log log_on_success = HOST EXIT DURATION log_on_failure = HOST ATTEMPT RECORD only_from = 192.168.0.0/24 instances = 10 per_source = 5 cps = 5 20 ... } service ftp { socket_type = stream protocol = tcp wait = no user = root server = /usr/sbin/in.proftpd } Nachdem ich mich auf dem FTP-Server eingeloggt habe, sagt er mir bei jedem Kommando, das ich eingebe (z.B. ls), immer: 500 Illegal PORT command. ftp: bind: Address already in use Sollte der xinetd Passives FTP verbieten ?!? Was bedeutet "Adress already in use" ? Wenn ich den proftpd als standalone starte, bekomme ich die Fehlermeldung nicht und alles klappt!? Fragen ueber Fragen und keine Antworten ... oder doch? Hallo Mathias, das bedeutet, daß der port 21 schon belegt ist, mehr nicht. tip: ftp service in inetd.conf abschalten... gruß seb

Hab' ich schon gemacht als ich auf xinetd umgestiegen bin (inetd ist ausserdem gar nicht mehr installiert). lsof -iTCP:21 liefert: COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE NODE NAME proftpd 17267 root 0u IPv4 493240 TCP *:ftp (LISTEN)

Uops, mein Fehler. *aerger*
Aber ich kann alles erklaeren: Momentan laeuft der proftpd standalone, das
will ich aber aendern. Also schalte ich um, teste, geht nicht, schalte
zurueck. Als ich 'lsof -iTCP:21' eingegeben habe, habe ich vergessen auf
inetd umzuschalten. Doch leider geht's im inetd-Modus auch nicht ...
