Ich setze gerade einen alten Rechner mit einem 10.3-Testsystem auf. Installation erfolgt über NFS (10.0-Server). An und für sich lief bis jetzt alles glatt, aber ich bin schon irritiert, dass beim Partitionieren /dev/sda angezeigt wird. Ein SCSI-Controller ist zwar vorhanden, aber keine SCSI-HD. So hat es davor ausgesehen: cpu: Pentium III (Katmai), 450 MHz keyboard: /dev/input/event1 AT Translated Set 2 keyboard mouse: /dev/input/mice ImPS/2 Generic Wheel Mouse monitor: Generic Monitor graphics card: Guillemot 3D Prophet II MX Dual-Display sound: ESS ES1868 Plug and Play AudioDrive storage: Floppy disk controller Intel 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 IDE LSI Logic / Symbios Logic LSI53C876/E PCI to Dual Channel SCSI Controller network: eth0 3Com 3c905 100BaseTX [Boomerang] network interface: lo Loopback network interface eth0 Ethernet network interface sit0 Network Interface disk: /dev/hda ST380021A partition: /dev/hda1 Partition /dev/hda2 Partition /dev/hda5 Partition /dev/hda6 Partition /dev/hda7 Partition /dev/hda8 Partition /dev/hda9 Partition /dev/hda10 Partition /dev/hda11 Partition /dev/hda12 Partition /dev/hda13 Partition /dev/hda14 Partition /dev/hda15 Partition cdrom: /dev/hdd TOSHIBA CD-ROM XM-6402B floppy: /dev/fd0 Floppy Disk usb controller: Intel 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 USB bios: BIOS bridge: Intel 440BX/ZX/DX - 82443BX/ZX/DX Host bridge Intel 440BX/ZX/DX - 82443BX/ZX/DX AGP bridge Intel 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 ISA Intel 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 ACPI hub: Linux 2.6.18.8-0.1-default uhci_hcd UHCI Host Controller memory: Main Memory unknown: FPU DMA controller PIC Timer RTC Keyboard controller /dev/lp0 Parallel controller PS/2 Controller PnP Unclassified device PnP Unclassified device PnP Unclassified device PnP Unclassified device PnP Unclassified device PnP Unclassified device PnP Unclassified device PnP Unclassified device PnP Unclassified device PnP Unclassified device PnP Unclassified device PnP Unclassified device PnP Unclassified device ESS ES1868 Plug and Play AudioDrive ESS ES1868 Plug and Play AudioDrive ESS ES1868 Plug and Play AudioDrive /dev/ttyS0 16550A /dev/ttyS1 16550A Al -- Um die Liste abzubestellen, schicken Sie eine Mail an: opensuse-de+unsubscribe@opensuse.org Um eine Liste aller verfuegbaren Kommandos zu bekommen, schicken Sie eine Mail an: opensuse-de+help@opensuse.org

Hi Al, seit 10.3 heißt es nicht mehr /devhdx sondern /dev/sdx Gruß Lutz -- Um die Liste abzubestellen, schicken Sie eine Mail an: opensuse-de+unsubscribe@opensuse.org Um eine Liste aller verfuegbaren Kommandos zu bekommen, schicken Sie eine Mail an: opensuse-de+help@opensuse.org

neuere Kernel addressieren alle Geräte als sdx (also P-ATA, S-ATA und SCSI) - alles OK bei Dir, kein Grund zur Sorge (außer, du hast mehr als 15 Partitionen auf der Platte, da gibt es IMHO noch Einschränkungen beim Treiber) Grüße Christian -- Christian Lorch - der nett.Zwerg-Berater

Hallo Christian, na dann bin ich schon gespannt, worauf sich das alles auswirkt, auf meine Scripts jedenfalls ;-) /usr/sbin/smartctl -d scsi -s on -a /dev/sda smartctl version 5.37 [i686-suse-linux-gnu] Copyright (C) 2002-6 Bruce Allen Home page is http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net/ Device type: disk Local Time is: Fri Oct 26 18:27:47 2007 CEST Device does not support SMART unable to fetch IEC (SMART) mode page [unsupported field in scsi command] A mandatory SMART command failed: exiting. To continue, add one or more '-T permissive' options. Lässt man -d weg, dann klappt es und auch so: /usr/sbin/smartctl -d ata -s on -a /dev/sda Hmmh, ich kapier die (neue) Logik nicht.
