GeForce 6200 zu schwach für X.264 und FullHD?
OS 12.2 Ist eine GeForce 6200 zu schwach für X.264 und FullHD? Ist vielleicht einfach nur das Problem, dass ich es nicht schaffe, vdpau zu aktivieren? vlc meckert, dass der X.264-Codec nicht gefunden wurde und das Problem wird auch nicht durch einen Reset der Konfiguration gelöst. Mit mplayer hört man Ton, aber das Bild ist extrem verzögert. Hi Al, ja leider unterstützt Gforce < 8000 gar kein vdpau. Bei GF8xxx - GF9xxx muß man, wenn es um x264 geht, auch genauer hinschauen, ob das unterstützt ist. Auf dem ftp-Server von NVidia gibt es für jede Patch einen HTML-Bereich mit den "supported devices" und dort wird auch der vdpau level aufgelistet, und damit ist aufgeschlüsselt, was die Chipsätze können. Schau dich mal nach einer günstigen GF-2xx oder so um, also 210 oder 220. Die bieten das alles. Sind nicht viel teuerer als die GF 6xxx-Karten. Ist aber nicht tragisch, wenn es nicht funktioniert, ich wollte nur wissen, ob es an mir liegt. Ansonsten, ich habe 13.1 nun installiert, da meckert vlc nicht mehr bzgl. X.264-Codec. Für Surfen reicht dieser alte PC noch alle Mal, ist aber schon etwas zickig bei der Installation. Ich weiß nicht, ob es die Installation übel nimmt, wenn man nach der Erstinstallation die Updates via ssh macht bzw. der Monitor nicht aktiv ist. Diese PureVideo wurde bisher immer nur im Kleinweich-Windows-Treiber unterstützt und zielt leider auch nur auf MPEG2, wir man bei der Auflösung vermuten kann.

Ich habe hier auch noch so historische Hardware und nutze die gerne zu ersten Tests, weil man da so schon der Arbeit zuschauen kann :-). Bei den AGP-Slots gibt es teilweise versteckte Sperren, die das Herausrutschen verhindern sollen. Das kann dann auch mal den Ausbau verhindern. Du wirst lachen, aber ich liebe es zu zeigen, daß man mit solcher Hardware auch noch arbeiten kann. Nvidia-Karten haben hier den massiven Vorteil eines DRI2 oder DRI3-ähnlichen Treiber, was bei den schönen Matrox-Karten leider seit MESA 8 nicht mehr gegeben ist. Es funktioniert ganz gut, aber man sieht schon den SWRAST verdammt schlimm. Das ist sehr traurig, da die Karten bei der Bildqualität wirklich gut sind und leistungsmäßig mit einem entsprechenden Treiber bestimmt noch auf länger Zeit leistungsfähig wären. Habe hier noch eine ganz alte MESA7-Installation die das vorführt.

Hatte ich auch bei manchen Karten, daß bei DVI ein "Out of Range" auf dem Monitor auftaucht, aber es sollte eigentlich kein Problem sein, wenn du per ssh -X den Yast2 auf eine andere Box pustest. Es half beim mir im Grub2 fest auf 1280x1024 zu stellen.
