Hallo, es passiert folgendes : # ypmatch testuser passwd.byname testmann:x:502:100:testuser fuer yp:/home/testmann:/ getent ist nicht auf dem Client-Rechner und wird auch von yast nicht auf der SuSE-CD gefunden. Ich muß allerdings gestehen, daß ich den ersten Absatz von Abschnitt 6.8 des HOWTOs nun gar nicht verstanden habe. Bezieht sich dieser Abschnitt auf den Client oder den Server ? Sollte ich auf dem Server die verschlüsselten Passwörter der "NIS-User" in /etc/passwd oder in /etc/shadow haben ? ciao Guenther

Und was geben jetzt die Programme aus ? "getent passwd kukuk" und "ypmatch kukuk passwd.byname" sollte beide etwas wie: kukuk:XXXXXXXXXXXXX:358:50:Thorsten Kukuk:/home/dhs/kukuk:/bin/bash
ausgeben, wobei XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX das verschlüsselte Passwort ist. Wenn das Passwort "x" oder "*" oder sonstwas ist, dann läuft da etwas bei der Erstellung der Maps falsch.
