Hallo Zusammen, ich versuch die ganze Zeit mein Modem für den faxempfang einzurichten. Aber der Eintrag in der inittab SO:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/mgetty -s 19200 -n 2 /dev/ttyS0 führt nicht zum erfolg. Er meint nur das es ihm zu schnell gehe und er fünf Minuten warte. Was läuft da falsch ? Der mgetty beendet sich auf Grund eines Fehlers, init versucht (da respawn angegeben), mgetty wieder zu starten und das Spiel geht von vorn los. Nun ist init schlau :) und merkt das. Er gibt dann die dir bekannte Meldung aus und wartet fünf Minuten, bis er es wieder versucht. Was passiert, wenn Du den mgetty mit obigen Parametern von der Konsole aus aufrufst? Wenn ich es mit der Verzeichnisangabe aufrufe sagt mir Bash, das er die Datei nich findet. Gebe ich mgetty am Prompt ein, und drücke die Tabtaste, wird mgetty aufgelistet. Also ist anscheind die Verzeichnisangabe falsch. mgetty funktioniert ansonsten mit den angegebenen Parameter wie gewünscht. Danke für Deinen hinweis. Anscheind muss ich mal wieder schlafen. ;-) War aber in den letzten Tagen unmöglich. Dieser Hinweis ist genial. Fehlerhafte Verzeichnisangabe? Viele gettys (auch bei anderen Unices) suchen standardmäßig im /dev-Verzeichnis und mögen keine Pfade. Probiere es mal, die Pfadangabe zum tty wegzulassen, also anstatt mgetty ....... /dev/ttyS0 einfach nur mgetty ....... ttyS0 zu schreiben.

Das funktioniert beides. ;-) Ich meinte die Verzeichnisangabe /usr/sbin/. Die war falsch.
