Wie update ich? Wie erweitere ich die YaST2-Paketliste?
Hallo, ich habe gestern nach fast drei Wochen Wartezeit von RealDos endlich meine bestellte KDE2.2 CD für SuSE 7.2 erhalten. Wie kann ich nun bestehende KDE Pakete durch eventuell auf der CD vorhandene neuere Pakete ersetzen? Wie kann ich die Pakete auf der CD der Liste verfügbarer Pakete in YaST2 hinzufügen? TIA, Felix

Du meinst wohl rpm -Fvh Ich habe obiges und auch "rpm -Uvh" ausprobiert; bei beiden erhalte ich jedoch die Fehlermeldung "kdenetwork.rpm cannot be installed" und einen Haufen ungelöster Dependencies. Muss ich die alle von Hand lösen oder geht das bei SuSE auch automatisch? Felix

Zur Installation über yast2 kann ich jetzt leider nichts sagen - ich benutze für solche größeren Sachen immer yast1. Hier hat es bisher immer ausgereicht, in das Verzeichnis zu gehen, in dem die zu installierenden Pakete liegen. Wenn bei Dir KDE-Pakete vorhanden sind, sind sie mit einem 'o' gekennzeichnet. Dieses 'o' überschreibe ich mit einem 'X' (geht über die Taste '+') und mit [F10] werden die Pakete installiert bzw. ein Update durchgeführt. Mehr macht der rpm-Mechanismus auch nicht. Probleme mit diesem Verfahren hat es bisher nur gegeben, wenn der Download der Pakete mißlungen ist oder ich die SuSE-Versionen untereinander gemischt habe. Klingt vielleicht ein wenig doof, aber wenn sich hier nichts installieren lassen will: Deine Vorläuferversion von KDE2 deinstallieren (am besten mit yast1) und dann von Deiner neuen CD alles komplett neu installieren. Ich habe es bei meinen Update-Orgien auch schon geschafft, in irgendwelche Sackgassen reinzurennen, daß nichts mehr lief, obwohl scheinbar alles vorhanden war. HTH, Helga

Ja, rpm scheint im Vergleich zum Debian-Packet-Managment-System ziehmlich primitiv zu sein.

Danke, das hat fast funktioniert, aber erst nachdem ich die Pakete von der CD in ein Verzeichnis kopiert hatte, das keine Leerzeichen im Pfad enthält. Allerdings erhalte ich bei der Installation von kdenetwork.rpm die Fehlermeldung: Can't get PREIN for /home/felix/uninst/kde2.2/kdenetwork.rpm Was bedeutet diese kryptische Fehlermeldung und wie kann ich kdenetwork.rpm trotzdem installieren? Ich kann nicht klagen, außer daß eben gelegentlich die automatische Abhängigkeitsüberprüfung besser sein könnte. Aber meist fehlten in meiner Praxis nur einzelne Teile, die sich schnell besorgen ließen.

Die hätten aber nun wirklich schon draußen sein sollen :((.

Hier kann ich Dir nur den Rat geben: Lade Dir kdenetwork nochmal runter. PREIN spricht für ein zerschossenes rpm-Paket (zumindest nach den Informationen, die in dieser Liste schon rumgegeistert sind). Leider ist kdenetwork ein dicker Brocken, aber es lohnt sich. Schon alleine wegen KMail, das Threads aufklappt, wenn eine neue Mail ankommt. Es reicht also, wenn Du Deine Antwort an die Liste schickst und mir nicht noch einmal privat. Helga ------------------------------------------------------ Wie bringe ich KMail dazu, auf eine Liste zu antworten? (Das Feature ist ein bißchen versteckt). Rechter Mausklick auf den Ordner, in den die Liste gefiltert wird (hoffentlich), im Kontext Menü auf Eigenschaften gehen und die Option »Ordner enthält eine Mailingliste« anklicken. Mailadresse der Liste angeben, mit OK bestätigen. Will man nun an die Liste antworten: das 'l' (wie L-udwig) drücken und schon geht die Antwort in die Liste und der ursprüngliche Sender bekommt kein unerwünschtes Doppel.

Es ist auf der CD, aber, wie gesagt, bekomme ich es nicht installiert.
Manchmal kann auch eine CD fehlerhaft sein... (Ich habe es schon erlebt, daß ein Fleck mir eine Installation vermurkst hat). Helga
