Falls das auf die Frage von Alex Klein im Thread "Crontab Eintrag in /var/log/messages" anspielt, stimmt das nicht ganz, denn dort ging's um die Syslog-Nachrichten, nicht um die Mails.
nun, wir lesen die Liste, Du offensichtlich nicht. Wie Du vielleicht bemerkt haben wirst geht es in meiner Frage nicht um die Crontab, sonder um Cron-Hourly. Bevor Du das naechste mal eine dumme Antwort gibst lese Dir doch die Frage erst mal richtig durch.
Mit dem Unterschied zwischen crontab und cron.hourly hat das aber wenig zu tun, sondern einfach mit dem Unterschied zwischen Mails und Logfile-Einträgen.
wenn du so schlau bist sag mir doch mal wo genau der Unterschied ist? Meines Wissens nach ist die Prozedur genau diesselbe.
Nein, s.o. (jedenfalls, wenn ich gerade mit dem richtigen Thread vergleiche). Zum Unterdrücken der Mails hilft entweder die Variable MAILTO in crontab oder eine Ausgabeumleitung für das betreffende Skript. Das ging aber auch erst vor ein paar Tagen (zum x-ten Mal) über diese Liste.
Also bevor du ausfallend wirst wie wärs wenn du dich selber ein bisschen bemühst anstatt zu erwarten alles vorgekaut zu kriegen?
Das stimmt allerdings wieder, das Listenarchiv sollte reichlich zu diesem Thema haben.
