SuSE Linux 8.2 und "/boot" auf SW-RAID1
Hallo, ich habe vor etwa einem Jahr einen Rechner (darauf läuft in erster Linie der HTTP-Proxy-Server "SQUID") auf Basis von SuSE Linux 8.0 eingerichtet und dort die Platten folgendermaßen partitioniert: | gateway:~ # mount | | /dev/md1 on / type ext3 (rw) | proc on /proc type proc (rw) | devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,mode=0620,gid=5) | /dev/md0 on /boot type ext3 (rw) | /dev/md5 on /home type ext3 (rw) | /dev/md3 on /tmp type ext3 (rw) | /dev/md2 on /usr type ext3 (rw) | /dev/md4 on /var type ext3 (rw) | /dev/hda10 on /var/squid/cache1 type reiserfs (rw,noatime,notail) | /dev/hdc10 on /var/squid/cache2 type reiserfs (rw,noatime,notail) | shmfs on /dev/shm type shm (rw) Bei den "md"-Devices handelt es sich um Software-RAID (Level 1), die sich über die (typgleichen) Platten "hda" und "hdc" erstrecken. Unter SuSE Linux 8.0 war es möglich, in YaST2 auch für "/boot" ein "md"-Device anzugeben. Mit dieser LILO-Konfiguration | gateway:~ # cat /etc/lilo.conf | | boot = /dev/md0 | raid-extra-boot = auto | change-rules | reset | read-only | menu-scheme = Wg:kw:Wg:Wg | lba32 | prompt | timeout = 80 | message = /boot/message | | image = /boot/vmlinuz | label = linux | root = /dev/md1 | append = " hda=2434,255,63 hdc=2434,255,63" sind dann auch beide Platten bootbar (d.h. fällt eine Platte aus, kann man sie abhängen und mit der anderen, noch intakten Platte booten und eine neue beschaffen). Ich vermute mal, dass das Booten von beiden Platten (wegen der Geometrie) nur klappt, wenn sie wirklich baugleich sind. Nun wollte ich einen weiteren Rechner (einen Mail-Server anstelle eines Proxy-Servers) aufsetzen und dort im Prinzip genauso partitionieren. Nun wollte ich hier gleich das neue SuSE Linux 8.2 einsetzen, musste aber feststellen, dass YaST2 keinesfalls ein "md"-Device für "/boot" haben möchte (vermutl. deshalb, weil das nur bei baugleichen Platten tut und auch nur dann, wenn "/etc/lilo.conf" entsprechend vorbereitet ist). Klar, nun kann ich hergehen und bei der Installation die File-System- Geschichte komplett manuell in die Hand nehmen. Bevor ich das mache, wollte ich jedoch mal nachfragen, ob jemand bereits mit SuSE Linux 8.2 oder 8.1 (vielleicht ist es ja schon bei der 8.1 der Fall?) eine solche oder ähnliche Konfiguration aufgesetzt hat und ob ich befürchten muss, dass mir der YaST2 (z.B. bei einem späteren Lauf) hier etwas zerschießt?
