Suse 10 bootet nicht mehr nach Kernelupdate über YOU
Hallo zusammen. Habe SUSE 10 Beta 4 installiert ,lief alles einwandfrei. Nach einem Kernelupdate über YOU hing der Startvorgang dann aber plötzlich beim laden der SATA Teibermodule. (Silicon Image auf ASUS A7N8X-Deluxe) Gleiches Problem auch beim Versuch,von der CD der Suse 10 RC1 zu starten. Weiß da jemand Abhilfe, außer den SATA Controller auf dem Board zu deaktivieren?

Ist ja schon lustig, daß ein derartiges Problem immernoch fortbesteht! Bei SuSE Kerneln ist die Option 'X86_APIC_OFF' enabled! Zitat aus der Hilfe: 'When this option is enabled the IO/local APIC code is compiled in, but only enabled when the kernel is booted with "apic" on the kernel command line or an DMI entry forced APIC mode.' Bei mir hat genau dieser Parameter Wunder gewirkt! Chris

Der Hinweis auf einen Bootparameter kam ja schon - wobei ich mangels entsprechender Hardware nicht weiß, ob er wirklich hilft.

Wie wärs mit dem Einreichen eines Bugreports? ;-) Wenn es mit beta4 noch ging und erst der neuere Kernel das Problem verursacht hat, ist das IMHO eindeutig einen Bugreport wert - auch wenn der Bootparameter das Problem umgeht. -> https://bugzilla.novell.com (erst suchen, ob das Problem schon bekannt ist) Gruß Christian Boltz -- [SuSE 9.1] Und utf-8 saugt tote Hamster durch Strohhalme, selbst wenn es funktioniert.
