Sony Vaio und Linux - funzt das??
Hallo Pinguine, habe ein gebrauchtes Sony Vaio angeboten bekommen und ueberlege nun, mir damit vielleicht meinen Traum vom Linux Notebook zu erfuellen. Hat einer von euch vielleicht Erfahrungen damit, Linux auf das Teil aufzuspielen? Oder sollte ich lieber gleich die Finger davon lassen? Danke fuer Eure Info's. Ich kenne einen, der hat es auf einem Vaio laufen, es ging nur das doofe Winmodem nicht. Braucht man aber auch nicht unbedingt. Allerdings weis ich nicht mehr was für ein Vaio es ist, müsste ich mal fragen. -- mfg Peter Kuechler Umlandverband Frankfurt Systemadministrator

Also ich hab hier ein halbwegs betagtes PCG-F160, da l�uft eigentlich alles, also IR, USB, Sound, X, PCMCIA. Das einzige ist der FireWire anschluss, da wird scheinbar ein nicht unterst�tzter Chip benutzt. Xfree 4.xx hab ich bis jetzt noch nicht hinbekommen, aber da war auch noch keine Zeit sich mit dem Problem auseinanderzusetzen. (Kommt sicherlich fr�her oder sp�ter in die Liste). Also die F-Serie scheint problemlos zu sein. CIAO Michael

Soll nicht ganz einfach sein, aber ein gewisser Linus T. hat Gerüchten zufolge zumindest eine Zeit lang ein derartiges Teil eingesetzt :)
