Hallo, bis Kernel 2.2.x gab es ein Modul 3dfx.o, was zur Benutzung von /dev/3dfx als User geladen werden mußte. Im Kernel 2.4.7 (SuSE) kann ich dieses nicht mehr finden. Glide, Mesa3dfx usw. scheint alles richtig installiert zu sein (lief ja auch schon wunderbar unter 2.2.x), als root kann man auch GlideControl aufrufen und die Voodoo2 wird richtig erkannt. Als normaler User ist das ohne oben genanntes Modul nicht möglich. Wenn ich als User GlideControl aufrufe, kommt auch anständig vom Kernel die Meldung, daß er char-major-107 nicht finden kann. /dev/3dfx gehoert root.video, die Rechte sind 0660 und ich bin in der Gruppe video. Ich möchte meine Voodoo2 nicht nur als root benutzen können... Oder ist gar die Unterstützung für Voodoo2 ganz rausgefallen? Wäre nicht so toll. Gruß Jens -- "Microsoft spel chekar worgs grate!"

Für SuSE-Kernelversion <= 2.4.2: ja. Für alle anderen: nein :( Ich habe aber schon den entscheidenden Tip im IRC bekommen: es gibt ein (unsupportetes) Device3Dfx-CVS-20010129.tar.gz, mit dem man das Modul erstellen kann.
