OT: XP akzeptiert den host-Eintrag meiner Samba-Box nicht mehr
Mußte vor Pfingsten meine Linux-Box flachtreten und hab daher eine parallele Neuinstallation vorgenommen. Alles ist wieder so wie vorher: Die SMB-Sharenamen, die IP-Adresse des Rechners, auch der Rechnername sind wie vorher; allerdings ist die Samba-Version (und nicht mehr 8.0 SuSE sondern 8.2) also alles etwas neuer moderner klickibunter usw. Egal. Der Punkt ist, dass ich von der XP-Maschine früher \\linuxbox\sharename eingab und die XP-Kiste griff auf die SMB-Maschine. Jetzt: \\192.168.1.6\sharename. Zugriff wie gehabt - ohne Probleme. Jedoch nur mit der Nennung der IP-Adresse. Die Hosteinträge stimmen alle auf der XP-Maschine. Ich betreibe ein statisches Netzwerk. Hat jemand von Euch eine Ahnung an was das liegen könnte? Robert

Ich denke, daß bei dir nur der nmbd nicht läuft, der ist auf Linux-Seite für die Namensauflösung des SMB-Protokolls nötig. Als root: rcnmb start Wenns dann klappt, braucht der nur noch beim Systemstart mit aktiviert zu werden. Das geht über yast2 oder insserv. Bei der 8.2 von SuSE sind nämlich die beiden Samba-Prozesse voneinander getrennt worden. Vorher starteten die gemeinsam. Gruß Jens
