mutt hat einen Bug bei Zurueckstellung von Mails
Hallo, habe unter mutt-1.3.16 einen fast dreiseitige Mail getippt, dabei immer mal wieder mutt verlassen und die Nachricht zurückgestellt. Nach etwa der fünften Überarbeitung der Mail habe ich die auch tatsächlich abgeschickt. In Wahrheit ist aber *NICHTS* abgeschickt worden und im Ordner der gesendeten Mails ist ein leere Mail (nur header ist vorhanden) . Nicht einmal das Subject ist erhalten. Ich habe an den Adressat sonst wochenlang keine Mail geschrieben. Das Mail-Skelett im Ordner der gesendeten Mails kann nur von dieser einen Mail stammen. Das Datum stimmt auch genau. Also, ich habe jetzt eine Sch****-Wut auf dieses Teil. Ich kann nur davor warnen bei mutt die Funktion des Zurückstellens von Mails zu benutzen. Ekkard

Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, daß das Mutts Fehler ist. Wenn doch, wirst Du sehr interessierte Zuhörer unter den Entwicklern finden, die einen derartigen Schnitzer sicher nicht länger als eine Woche stehen lassen. Kannst Du den Fehler replizieren?
Diese Funktion ist ziemlich ungelenk zu benutzen, darum tippe ich auf einen Bedienerfehler. Ich habe jedenfalls schon einige Mails aus diesem Grunde verloren, Mutt noch keine. Um das zu vermeiden, kannst Du ja Deinen Editor bitten, Backupdateien anzulegen, ruhig auch erst dann, wenn Du eine Nachricht zurückstellst. Thorsten -- Verbing weirds language. - Calvin.

Ich benutze diese Funktion öfter und sie hat immer funktioniert. Andererseits: Wenn Du ALPHA-Versionen verwendest (mutt-1.3.16), dann bist Du selber schuld. Ich habe schon des öfteren Mails zurückgestellt, und nie Probleme gehabt. Hört sich mehr so an, als wenn Du beim Abspeichern der Mail leider den größten Teil gelöscht hättest. Also eine Fehlbedienung des Editors. Es kann auch sein, daß Du die Datei ~/postponed irgendwie verändert hast, denn da legt mutt seine Zurückgestellte Mails ab. ~/postponed wohlbemerkt und nicht etwa in ~/Mail/postponed oder so. Wenn Du in Deinem Homeverzeichnis irgendwelche Dateiverändernde Aktionen gemacht hast und da ein * verwendet hast, so kann es daran liegen. Es kann aber auch an Deiner Version liegen. oder worauf auch immer "set postponed" in Deiner muttrc verweist. Bei mir z.B. Hier funktioniert sie einwandfrei. Allerdings setze ich hier auch nicht die Version "mutt-1.3.16i" ein, sondern "mutt-1.4i". Wenn ich: ftp://ftp.mutt.org/pub/mutt/devel/ richtig verstehe, war "mutt-1.3.16i" ganz klar eine Development-Version, und da können durchaus auch mal Dinge nicht so funktionieren, wie sie eigentlich sollten... Möglicherweise findest Du ja sogar in den Ar- chiven der Mutt-Mailinglisten Hinweise auf einen möglichen Bug in dieser Version. Hier hat jedenfalls die "postpone"-Funktion noch keine Schwierigkeiten gemacht. Aber ich weiß auch nicht, ob ich die "1.3.16i" jemals laufen hatte. Gruß, Steffen
