Hallo MAine frage hat wenig mit Linux zu tun und mag auch ein wenig dumm klingen: Ich habe gehoert, dass es angeblich Adapter geben soll, die es ermöglichen eine IDE Platte an einem SCSI Controller zu betreiben. Ich kann es mir nicht wirklich vorstellen, aber es wäre doch zu schön um es als Gerücht abzutun. Angesichts der des Preisvorteils einer IDE Platte gegenüber einem SCSI Modell wäre es doch durchaus denkbar das jemand so etwas produziert, sofern dies möglich ist. Stellt sich die Frage ob es nicht zu aufwendig ist, sodas der Preisvorteil weg ist? Hat jemand davon gehört? Vor langer zeit (>1 Jahr) habe ich mal einen Testbericht über eine RAID gelsen, in den mehrere IDE-Platten zum zusammnegeschaltet wurden und zum Host hin per SCSI sichtbar waren. Allerdings lag damals der Preis für das Teil in einem unrentablen Bereich. Wie das Teil hieß und wer es hergestellt hat weiß ich leider nicht mehr. Versuch mal dein Glück mit 'ner Suchmaschine.

Ich glaube, mit einem grossem Hammer kriegt man die komischen IDE-Stecker schon irgendwie an den SCSI-Hosentraeger :> Wenn Dir SCSI-Platten zu teuer sind, dann steck doch IDE-Platten an den IDE-Controller. Der ist doch seit Jahren (1993/94 ?) auf allen Boards drauf. Und das Geld fuer einen SCSI-Adapter gibt man doch nicht aus, um dann IDE-Platten ranzuhaengen. Wo ist denn da der Witz ?
