firefox, mozilla, etc. starten nicht bei anderen Usern
Hi! Der neue Firefox, Firebird und Mozilla laufen bei meiner SuSE-9.0-Installation seltsamerweise nur unter meinem privaten Account, bei keinem anderen User, auch nicht bei ganz frisch mit yast2 angelegten. Woran kann das denn liegen? Ich hatte mozilla und firefox als tar-Archiv entpackt, nach /opt verschoben und jeweils mit chown -R root.root die Rechte gesetzt. Wenn ich /opt/mozilla/mozilla oder /opt/firefox/firefox von meinem account aus starte, laufen beide prima, wenn ich sie von einem test-Account versuche zu starten, kommt einfach nach einer Sekunde der Prompt wieder. Kein Fenster, keine Fehlermeldung, keinerlei Kommentar. (Es liegt auch nicht an falsch gesetzten Rechten auf das DISPLAY, das habe ich gecheckt.) Ich habe auch die .bashrc ausgetauscht, kein Erfolg. Bin jetzt leider ziemlich ratlos, woran das noch liegen könnte, sowas ist mir bisher noch nicht untergekommen. Hat noch jemand eine Idee, wo ich gucken kann? Bis dann! Nur alle anderen User haben keinen Erfolg. Falls die Rechte falsch wären, würde ich auch eine Fehlermeldung erwarten. Aber es passiert außer einer Sekunde Pause gar nichts. Man bekommt einfach nur einen Prompt. Ich bin wirklich ziemlich ratlos. Es ist auch auf jeden Fall die richtige Version, die ausgeführt wird, andere sind nicht installiert und alle starten firefox für die Tests mit absolutem Pfad. Ich hab alles so installiert, wie alle vorherigen Versionen auch.

Benutzt du die lokalisierte Version mit GTK2+XFT? Dann solltest du vorher unbedingt noch ein Onlineupdate bei SuSE machen. In jedem Fall ist es aber unbedingt notwendig sowas wie chmod -R a+rx /opt/Mozilla.org/firefox auszuführen. Danach hat es bei mir gut funktioniert. Den gleichen Spaß hat man auch mit Thunderbird. ;-) Ich habe ihn von http://www.firefox-browser.de runtergeladen. Viele Grüße Bastian

Menue-Editor öffnen nachdem man wieder user ist und dort im Internet eine neue Verbindung anlegen, die man Firefox nennt und bei Befehl gibt man dann / usr/local/firefox/firefox ein.
