ich habe mein Problem zwar auch schon auf der SuSE-Laptop-Liste beschrieben, allerdings habe ich die Hoffnung, daß hier vielleicht noch jemand eine Idee hat. Ich habe nämlich irgendwie den Eindruck, das es auch an meinem mangelnden Wissen über den Kernel und seine Module hängt. Hier ist ersteinmal meine Beschreibnung:
Ich versuche gerade Linux parallel zu Windows zu installieren. Ich will eine FTP-Installation machen, da ich "nur" die SuSE 7.0 da habe. Ich habe ein Compaq Presario 17XL470. Jetzt habe ich mir die Bootdisk und die 2 Modul-Disketten gebaut und gebootet (von 7.3). Yast melded, daß es den "PCMCIA chipset i82365" gefunden hat. Allerdings kann er kein PCMCIA-Modul laden(fehlgeschlagen). Laut Windows-Gerätemanager habe ich "Texas Instruments PCI-1410-CardBus-Controller". Jetzt habe ich es mit einer Bootdisk von 7.1 geschaftt. Scheinbar wollte der Chipsatz nur mit dem 2.2 Kernel.
Jetzt zu meinen Netzwerkkarten. Prinzipiell habe ich 3 verschiedene mit denen es gehen könnte: 1. Eine interne mit dem klangvollen Namen: Compaq 10_100 MiniPCI Ethernet NIC Dazu habe ich folgenden Artikel gefunden http://user.cs.tu-berlin.de/~gregorrg/compaq/presario17xl470.html Hier steht die Passage: "A tulip driver has been made available for the Conexant NIC" Allerdings hat es nicht funtkioniert, wenn ich bei Netzwerkmodulen "tulip" gewählt habe.
2. Eine PCMCIA WLAN-Karte von Intel (Intel Pro Wireless 2011). Nach etwas Suchem im Internet habe ich gefunden, daß man diese Karte unter Linux als Orinoco-Karte installieren kann. Allerdings ist es wohl etwas gewagt, von Yast zu verlangen einen WLAN-Karte von der Bootdisk auf anhieb zu erkennen.
3. Eine PCMCIA-Netzwerkkarte von Allnet (ALL0142+ / IC-CARD-TX). Für diese Karte gibt es laut Homepage http://www.allnet.de/, einen Linux-Treiber. Allerdings ist mir nicht ganz klar, wie ich den dann als Modul laden kann. Tja aber die Karten gehen immernoch nicht! Es gibt keine passenden Module :-(
Hat jemand noch irgendwelche Tips? Gruß Thilo
