Von einer "Professional" Distribution sollte man, meiner Meinung nach, eine Kontinuität erwarten können, die für Firmen sehr wichtig ist. Und wenn dann doch Pakete nicht mehr unterstützt werden, dann sollte zumindest darauf hingewiesen werden.
Schau doch noch mal genauer nach, vielleicht existiert das paket jetzt unter einem anderen Namen oder es gibt keine Updates mehr. Am besten fragst du direkt bei SuSE nach. Auf solche Fragen antworten die immer :-))
Da habe ich leider andere Erfahrungen gemacht. Wo fragt man da am besten nach?

Macht euch eine Zusatz-CD mit allen benötigten Packages. Das sollte die Aufgabe eines Projektleiters sein, wenn ihr Software herstellt. So hat dann auch der Kunde, so was immer auf CD.

Hmm, das ist Ansichtssache... Wenn du Kontinuität willst, wechsel zu Debian (sorry SUSE-Leute).

Update-Handbuch zur 7.1 steht doch auf Seite 145-147 deutlich drin, was rausgefallen ist.
