Hallo Leute, ich möchte gerne TrueType - Schriften unter Linux verwenden. Dazu habe ich mal das Pake Freetype installiert. aber irgendwie komme ich damit nicht so ganz klar. Ich habe in der Zeitschrift Linux intern 2/99 gelesen das man dazu das Paket Xfstt benötigt. Dieses Paket habe ich mir aus dem Netz geladen und versucht zu kompilieren, klappt aber leider nicht. Weil der "cc1plus" Compiler nicht vorhanden ist. Wer hat TrueType - Schriften unter Linux laufen und kann mir einen Rat geben wie man das sauber installiert und nutzen kann. Mein Erfahrungsbericht (c't Artikel + weitere Dokus): - Installiere einen Compiler (gcc,gpp + make,libc) benötigt man um Programme zu kompilieren. - Installiere Freetype - als root einloggen - ttmkfdir downloaden: http://www.joerg-pommnitz.de/TrueType/ttmkfdir.tar.gz Entpacken: tar -xzvf ttmkfdir.tar.gz kompilieren: make Installieren (kopieren) cp ttmkfdir /usr/X11R6/bin - Verzeichnis erstellen: mkdir /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType TTF's reinkopieren: cp *.ttf /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType fonts.scale und fonts.dir erzeugen: ttmkfdir > fonts.scale ttmkfdir > fonts.fir - X-Fontserver (xfsft als ersatz für xfs) downloaden: ftp://ftp.dcs.ed.ac.uk/pub/jec/programs/xfsft/xfsft-1.1.6.linux-i386-libc6.tar.gz Entpacken: tar -xzvf xfsft-1.1.6.linux-i386-libc6.tar.gz Installieren (kopieren) cp /usr/X11R6/bin/xfs /usr/X11R6/bin/xfs.old cp /usr/X11R6/bin/mkfontdir /usr/X11R6/bin/mkfontdir.old cd xfsft-1.1.6 cp xfs /usr/X11R6/bin cp mkfontdir /usr/X11R6/bin cp encodings.tar /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts tar -xvf encodings.tar - xfs.conf nach /etc kopieren (angehängt) - /etc/X86Config anpassen -------------------------------------- Section "Files" .... FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi" FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi" FontPath "tcp/localhost:7100" EndSection -------------------------------------- - Startskript anlegen (angehängt): xfs nach /sbin/init.d/ kopieren. symbolische Links anlegen: (für runlevel 2+3) cd /sbin/init.d/rc2.d ln -s ../xfs S75xfs ln -s ../xfs K15xfs cd /sbin/init.d/rc3.d ln -s ../xfs S75xfs ln -s ../xfs K15xfs Von den entpackten Dateien und Fonts sollten noch die Rechte und Benutzer abgeändert werden. (chmod + chown) chown root:root ... (xfs,*.ttf ...) Dateien: chmod 644 ... (*.ttf) Binaries, Shellskripte, Verzeichnisse: chmod 755 ... Ich hoffe mir sind nicht zu viele Fehler unterlaufen. So läuft das bei mir auf drei Suse 6.2. TrueType-Fonts in z.B. Netscape und Kde-Kontrollzentrum. Keine Gewähr auf die Konfigurationshilfe. Drucken von TTF und Staroffice klappt dann immer noch nicht.
