Hast Du es mal aus xterm oder kvt gestartet, um eventuelle Fehlermeldungen zu sehen? Bei mir hatte ich den gleichen Effekt, aber nach geraumer Zeit erschien dann der device-Auswahl-Dialog doch noch. Braucht recht lange. Ich kann xscanimage starten, wenn ich denn SCSI-Treiber noch nocht geladen habe. Habe SCSI geladen passiert gar nichts, wenn ich im xterm 'xscanimage' eintippe; ich habe es nach ein paar Minuten mit CTRL+C abgebrochen. Sag mal, wenn ich den Treiber mit probmode lade, sehe ich in /var/log/messages, dass die SCSI-Karte keinen freien IRQ bekommt (ich leide an chronischen IRQ-Mangel); der Scanner wird aber trotzdem (laut messages) erkannt. Könnte das die Ursache sein?
