Truetype Symbol-font installieren
Servus ! Ich bin hier am verzweifeln:, denn ich bekomme symbol.ttf (monotype-symbol) nicht sauber installiert. Einige Programme zeigen ihn in der Auswahlbox, können ihn aber nicht ordentlich anzeigen, andere haben ihn gar nicht zur Auswahl. Ich brauche das Teil leider, damit einige Webseiten, die die netten <FONT> Konstrukte enthalten, die griechischen Bustaben, statt der lateinischen anzeigen. z.B.: <font face="symbol">q</font> sollte ein Theta ergeben. Die übrigen MS-TT-Fonts habe ich mit fetchmstt... installiert - ohne Probleme. Mit symbol.ttf bin ich nach sdb vorgegangen und habe fonts.dir und fonts.scale neu erzeugt. Folgende Einträge sind jetzt enthalten: fonts.dir (umgebrochen): symbol.ttf \ -monotype-Symbol-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-microsoft-symbol fonts.scale: symbol.ttf \ -monotype-Symbol-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-microsoft-symbol Verdana und Co werden ordentlich angezeigt, aber Symbol nicht :-) Was muss ich noch tun ? Ich vermute, dass du KDE benutzt. Dann solltest du noch den kfontmanager starten (steht das in sdb?) Eigentlich sollte das dann gehen, denke ich. Sven

Ich vermute, dass du KDE benutzt. Dann solltest du noch den kfontmanager starten (steht das in sdb?) Eigentlich sollte das dann gehen, denke ich. Sven
Es hat leider nichts mit KDE zu tun: das gleiche Problem gibt es auch unter anderen WM's. Ausserdem meckert z.B auch gimp das es den Font nicht findet (nachdem ich ihn aber auswählen konnte). -- Mathias Weigt

Es wäre trotzdem nen Versuch wert, der kfontmanager installiert nämlich AFAIK die Schriften für X Free, da ist nichts KDE-spezifisch. Die Symbol läuft bei mir auch nicht. Dazu gibt es auch ein paar andere Fonts, die nicht wollen, obwohl die überwiegende Zahl sich installieren und benutzen ließ. Kann es an der Schrift selber liegen? (Meine Schrifteninstallation ist händisch gemacht, klappt aber; ich kann sogar Schriften von einer CD benützen). Helga

Ich hab mittlerweile den kfontinstaller : bringt auch nichts.

Danke für den Link. Dort ist genau mein Problem beschrieben. Ich hab auch mittlerweile in alle Xftconfig's diese Sachen reingeschrieben, aber es klappt trotzdem nicht. -- Mathias Weigt
