versuche mich heute schon denn ganzen Tag mit dem DOS_Emu (aechz, spiele gerne Siedler2 u. Command & Conquer1, und möchte nicht immer Dos booten). Mir will es aber nicht gelingen, das der Emu von der DOS-Partition (sda1) bootet und die Treiber für SCSI (aspi8dos.sys, aspicd.sys,mscdex.exe), smartdrive.exe, mouse.com, keyboard.sys hochlaed. Wie sieht es mit himem, emm386, buffers, files, dos=high,umb, lastdrive, fcbs, stacks aus. Was ist mit Devicehigh u. Loadhigh. Geht es überhaupt Programme zu starten die auf CD zugreifen. Sound wäre egal, aber wie funkt. das mit der Emulation. Was macht "lredir".
Ich denke da liegt noch ein grundsätzliches Mißverständnis über die Funktion des Emulators vor. Als normale Linux-Applikation hat der Emulator zunächst gar keinen Zugriff auf die Hardware, es sei denn er wird ausdrücklich gewährt (siehe Konfigurationsdatei). Der Zugriff auf das DOS-Dateisystem wird über den Redirektor abgewickelt. Das heißt Linux mounted eine DOS-Partition und mit LREDIR bekommt die DOS-Box unter einem Laufwerksbuchstaben Zugriff darauf. Folglich braucht man unter DOS keine speziellen Treiber. Einzige Bedingung ist: Linux selber muß zugreifen können. Weitere Folge, Dateicaching wird von Linux besorgt, also ist auch kein smartdrv notwendig. Technisch gesehen macht LREDIR das gleiche wie ein Netzwerktreiber. Aus Sicht von DOS sind diese Platten also äquivalent zu Netzwerklaufwerken, folglich würde smartdrv damit auch nicht arbeiten. Weitere Konsequenzen: FILES muß gesetzt werden, BUFFERS ist im Prinzip wirkungslos. Tastatur macht Linux. Speicher sowieso, also kein EMM386, kein HIMEM. FCBS sind im Netzwerkumfeld ebenfalls wirkungslos, STACKS wird nur im Ausnahmefall benötigt. Hochladen von Treibern ist grundsätzlich möglich. Ein DPMI-Treiber ist im Emulator ebenso wie EMS-Emulation enthalten und wird dort konfiguriert.

Stimmt soweit, man sollte allerdings ergänzen, daß das Laufwerk C: immer das Image ist, welches unter Linux als File vorliegt. C: ist unter DOS sogar mit fdisk und/oder PQMagic ansprechbar (allerdings habe ich nie versucht das Ding zu partitionieren). Norton Utilities können C: als Festplatte behandeln (Direktzugriff).

Tastatur macht Linux.
Wenn man als Tastaturtyp "raw" nimmt, dann wird die Tastatur über die emulierten BIOS-Routinen gehandelt, man braucht also einen Tastaturtreiber. Das ganze geht allerdings nur, wenn DOSEmu von der Textkonsole aus gestartet wird. Problem bei der Sache: Da Linux keine Gewalt mehr über die Tasten hat (bei raw), kann man im Falle eines Absturzes eines DOS-Programms nicht mehr die Konsole wechseln. Für Experimente rate ich dringend zu einem zweiten Terminal (zB 2. Rechner via Telnet), von dem aus man als root arbeiten kann, um notfalls den DOS-Prozess abzuschießen. Als DOS-Tastaturtreiber den legendären KDrive, welcher wenig Speicher verbraucht, Variable Belegungen hat (Config-File) und bei Bedarf mittels Strg+Alt+Pause/Unterbr. mache Programme "abschießen" kann (zb der Norton-Commander läßt sich so abschießen.
Speicher sowieso, also kein EMM386, kein HIMEM.
DOS-Emu hat eingebaute "Schnittstellentreiber", es wird also EMS/XMS zur Verfügung gestellt.
FCBS sind im Netzwerkumfeld ebenfalls wirkungslos, STACKS wird nur im Ausnahmefall benötigt. Hochladen von Treibern ist grundsätzlich möglich. Ein DPMI-Treiber ist im Emulator ebenso wie EMS-Emulation enthalten und wird dort konfiguriert.
