Hallo, ich teste mit der SuSE 7.2 als IMAP Server den UW Server und als Client mutt. Wenn ich in mutt in den Folder {mein-imap-server} wechsle versucht der immer ueber SSL zu gehen, was mein Server aber nicht unterstuetzt. Wie kann ich verhindern dass mutt SSL nutzen moechte? Von einem sicherheitsparanoiden wie dich, hätte ich aber ein benutzung von SSL erwartet :-) UW-Imap finde ich persönlich nicht so toll, versuche doch mal Courier-IMAP der ist cool. (LDAP-Backend funktioniert auch ) Wie sehen denn die Variablen: mailboxes, folder und spoolfile bei dir aus? Ich muß für SSL explizit "imaps://imap" setzen, damit er SSL verwendet. bye Waldemar

Der UW-IMAP ist gut: in inetd.conf einbinden und fertig :-) Mit Mozilla habe ich es getestet: der laeuft einwandfrei.
Wie sehen denn die Variablen: mailboxes, folder und spoolfile bei dir aus?
Das steht alles noch auf den lokalen Werten - ich muesste ja zusaetzlich zu den lokalen Dateien IMAP Folder verwenden koennen?! Wenn alles laeuft stelle ich das natuerlich auch auf den Server um. Ich habe, um das ganze zu testen, einfach :change-folder {mein-imap-server} eingegeben, und dabei baut er eine SSL Verbindung auf.
Ich muß für SSL explizit "imaps://imap" setzen, damit er SSL verwendet.

In mutt F1 drücken und nach ssl suchen. Hast du also evtl. die Variable imap_force_ssl auf yes stehen (default ist no)? Einfach in mutt überprüfen durch Eingabe von: :set ?imap_force_ssl Gruß christian

Nein ich habe die testweise auch schon auf no gestellt.
